Plasma or LCD
When you want to purchase a flat screen and wall mountable TV one question is always going to confuse you and that it Plasma or LCD. It is a difficult choice to make and to make that decision you really have to ask yourself what kind of viewer you are and what your viewing habits are. First of all know the difference between the Plasma and the
Liquid Crystal Display or the LCD is. The
Plasma technology uses a technology where gases are trapped between two
flat panels of glass and these gases which are almost liquid in form get ignited to bring the pictures into form. The LCD as the abbreviation suggest uses liquid crystals for the display which are also equally volatile as gases. So what really can the difference be? It is very difficult to tell the difference even by a keen viewer and most of the time one gets confused because of the differences don’t seem to be any. The LCD can give brighter pictures and generally the TV screen looks well lit up because the crystals enhance the pictures by making them bright and lively. The Plasma screen whereas uses a pitch black screen and uses the black back ground to make the pictures look brighter. The logic is any color will look much brighter when put against black.
However the war still continues whether it is Plasma
or LCD? The pricing is a little different between them and that is the only apparent difference. The plasma’s were always priced a little higher than the LCD screen. The LCD offers a wider range than the plasma and many more screen sizes. There are many interim models and more number of models within the LCD range. Plasma technology has always had a more standardized approach where the screen sizes came in 42 inches, 50 inches and 60 inches. There are no other screen sizes available and actually these are the most common screen sizes that sell. The rest remains the same because both come with flat screen and both are wall mountable. Both the technologies offer same features more or less and even the pricing of them is pretty close to each other for every individual model.
For you to decide if you should buy the Plasma or LCD you should first consider your viewing habits first. If your living room or bedroom is dimly lit and there is not much natural light then you should buy the Plasma
TV because plasma makes the pictures look brighter using a black background and since your room is already dark it will add to the technology and actually work for it. The result will be movie like experiences that is if you have a good sound system to go along with it. If your house is well lit and bright during the day time with natural light coming in then you should probably buy the LCD because your pictures will look natural and brighter. So when it comes to Plasma or LCD it is your personal preferences that would matter.
